Oleksandr Shustov, associate professor of the department of surface mining, candidate of technical sciences.

In 2008, he graduated with honors from the National Mining University and received the qualification of a mining engineer with a research level of activity, a teacher of a higher educational institution.

In 2008-2011, he studied at the full-time post-graduate department of the State University "NGU" at the Department of Surface Mining. From 2011 to 2012, he worked as a researcher, from 2012 to 2016 as a senior researcher, and from 2017 as a leading researcher at the Institute for the Design of Mining Enterprises of the Dnipro University of Technology on the state budget topics in two of which as a responsible implementer.

In 2014, he successfully defended his candidate's thesis and, on the basis of the decision of the Attestation Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated September 23, 2014, he received the scientific degree of candidate of technical sciences with the specialty 05.15.03 - "Surface Mining".

Since 2016, according to Order No. 147a.-g. from 07/12/2016, holds the position of deputy editor-in-chief of the Collection of Research Papers of the National Mining University.

From 2015 to 2018, he worked as an assistant, and from September 2018, he was hired as an associate professor of the Department of Surface Mining. In 2021, he was awarded the academic title of associate professor of the department of surface mining.

Teaches disciplines: "Technology of open development of mineral deposits" and "Metrology, standardization and certification" for students of 2-4 courses of the "Mining" specialty.

His scientific activity related to the development of technological solutions for the mining and preparation for the exploitation of deep lignite deposits of Ukraine in difficult hydrogeological conditions, as well as the organization of the operation of transshipment points in the conditions of deep iron ore pits.

From 2018 to 2020, he was a scholarship holder of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, in 2020 he became a Laureate of the President of Ukraine Prize for young scientists. Winner of the regional competitions Best Young Scientist of the Dnipropetrovsk Region (2019) and Young Scientists of the Dnipropetrovsk Region (2021).

He has more than 100 published works, including: 1 foreign monograph, 5 chapters in collective monographs in English, 2 textbooks, 17 articles included in the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science, 30 in scientific specialized publications, 7 articles in foreign publications, 25 materials of international scientific conferences, 5 patents of Ukraine for inventions, 2 foreign patents and 3 methodological recommendations.


Certification training

1. Internship under the international program of academic mobility and professional development of teachers and scientists (Poland). The International Internship in the Underground Mining and Environmental Management Program (June 1 - September 1, 2018).

2. Internship at the Institute of Geotechnical Mechanics named after M.S. Polyakova of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Certificate on the results of internship with the amount of 4 ECTS credits (03.05 - 05.05.2018).
